Explore & Understand the Lutheran faith

St. Barnabas Lutheran Church is committed to providing engaging faith-based youth programs.

Sunday School is offered at 8:45 am before worship. We use a mix of games, songs, crafts, bible study and fellowship to bring the message to students of all ages. The children will return to service during the hymn of the day, just in time for a children’s sermon. Sign up here anytime or use the contact form to get in touch.

Confirmation is a two-year program for 7th & 8th graders.  The class gathers weekly during the school year, on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm.  Small and large group activities and multimedia are used as teaching tools.  Students participate in service projects within the congregation and in the community. If you’d like more information please reach out to the pastor.

First Communion is celebrated at the beginning of May each year.  In preparation, children in second grade (or older) along with parents attend class and bake bread to learn more about this special tradition.  If you would like more information, please call the church office or reach out on the contact page.

Middle School Youth Group and High School Youth Group at St. Barnabas provide a space for children in those age groups to gather, learn, and serve the community.

Lunch & Learn is a monthly event at St. Barnabas to gather, have lunch together, chat, and learn something from the various speakers that join us.  Every month is a new topic, check the event calendar to see the topic of the upcoming meet-up.

Book Group gathers to read selected books together. Topic and themes are discussed, members can share their perspectives and opinions here.

Prayer Team is a group that prays for members of our congregation, and those in our community. When there is a request, we lift our voices and hearts in prayer together. All are welcome to join the team meet-up any Wednesday night on Zoom, and we are always here for those who would like to make a request for prayer.
